PaperLens Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains, in plain words, what happens to your information when you use PaperLens, a document scanner app for Android, iPhone and iPad made by Evrenex (“we”).

The short version

  • Your scans and documents stay on your phone. We never upload them, and we can’t see them.
  • You don’t need an account. We don’t collect your name, email or contacts.
  • The free version shows a small banner ad from Google AdMob, and a video ad only when you choose to watch one to use a Pro feature once. Google may use your device’s advertising ID for ads, and where the law requires it, only after you agree.
  • PaperLens Pro is a subscription paid through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Your documents

Everything you scan, import, edit, sign or recognize as text is stored only on your device, inside PaperLens. Text recognition runs on your device. A document leaves your device only when you choose to share it or save it somewhere, for example to WhatsApp, email or a folder you pick.

If your phone’s own backup is turned on (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iPhone), your phone may include PaperLens documents in that backup. That backup is handled by Google or Apple under their policies, not by us.

Deleting a document moves it to Trash in the app; deleting it from Trash removes it for good. Uninstalling PaperLens deletes everything it stored on your device.

Camera and photos

PaperLens asks for the camera to scan paper documents, and for your photos only when you choose pictures to add as pages. These permissions are used only for those actions. You can turn them off at any time in your phone’s settings.

Files you share to PaperLens

When you send a photo or PDF to PaperLens from another app (for example with Share), PaperLens copies it into the app to make a new document. It stays on your device.

Ads in the free version

The free version shows one banner ad at the bottom of the document list, provided by Google AdMob. When a feature is part of PaperLens Pro, you can also choose to watch a short video ad to use it once; video ads never start on their own. To show and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device’s advertising ID, your IP address, general location (such as country), device type, and how you interact with the ad. Google does not receive your documents, scans or recognized text.

  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Türkiye and other places where it is required, Google’s consent form asks for your choice before ads use your data. You can change it later in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
  • On iPhone and iPad, the app does not ask for permission to track you across other apps and websites.
  • On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

PaperLens Pro has no ads.

PaperLens Pro and payments

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play or the App Store. They handle your payment; we never receive your card or bank details. PaperLens only asks the store whether your subscription is active, and keeps that answer on your device so Pro also works offline for a short time.

Google and Apple services in the app

On Android, document scanning and text recognition use Google’s on-device ML Kit (part of Google Play services). It works on your device and may send Google technical information about how the feature performs (for example, device model and whether it worked). It does not send your images or text. On iPhone and iPad, scanning and text recognition use Apple’s built-in tools on your device.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t run our own servers for your data, and we don’t sell personal information.
  • We don’t use analytics or tracking tools of our own.
  • We don’t ask you to create an account.

Children

PaperLens is not made for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and rights

Because your documents stay on your device, you control them: you can export, delete or uninstall at any time. For ads, use Settings → Ad privacy choices in the app, or your phone’s ad settings. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or KVKK in Türkiye), you may have rights to access or delete personal data; for information held by Google for ads, Google’s tools apply. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app’s update notes.
