Evidence Camera Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

This policy explains, in plain words, what happens to your information when you use Evidence Camera, an app for Android and iPhone made by Evrenex (“we”) for documenting the condition of things with photos.

The short version

  • Your photos, videos, notes and reports stay on your phone. We never upload them, and we can’t see them.
  • You don’t need an account. We don’t collect your name, email or contacts.
  • The place and direction of a photo are saved with it on your phone, and only if you allow location access.
  • The free version shows a small banner ad from Google AdMob. Google may use your device’s advertising ID for ads, and where the law requires it, only after you agree.
  • Evidence Camera Pro is a subscription paid through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Your photos, videos and notes

Everything you take, import, scan or write is stored only on your device, inside Evidence Camera, together with the time it was saved and a SHA-256 fingerprint of each file. Text in your photos and objects in them are recognized on your device. Your items leave your device only when you choose: when you share or export them (for example a photo or a PDF report), save a backup, move your folders to a new phone, or open a photo’s place in a maps app.

Your phone’s own backup (Google backup on Android, iCloud on iPhone) does not include Evidence Camera’s files unless you turn this on in the app’s settings. If you turn it on, that backup is handled by Google or Apple under their policies, not by us.

You can lock the app with a PIN, fingerprint or face, and encrypt the photo files on your device. Fingerprint and face checks are done by your phone; the app never receives your fingerprint or face data.

Deleted items go to Trash for 30 days and are then removed for good. Uninstalling Evidence Camera deletes everything it stored on your device.

Camera, microphone, location, photos and notifications

  • Camera: to take photos and record videos.
  • Microphone: only when you record a video with sound or a voice note.
  • Location: only while you use the app, to save where a photo or video was taken and which way the phone was pointing. Without it, photos are saved without a place.
  • Photos: to add pictures and videos you already have, and to save copies to your photo library when you ask.
  • Notifications: only for the reminders you set to photograph something again.

These permissions are used only for these actions, and you can turn them off at any time in your phone’s settings.

What your shared files contain

A file you share or export contains what you chose to include: for example a photo’s date, place and direction, your notes, the file’s fingerprint, and on a PDF report your name and signature. If you turn the option on, the date and place are also printed onto the picture. Check a report before you send it.

Backups and moving to a new phone

A backup is a ZIP archive saved where you choose, optionally protected with a password. Moving to a new phone sends an encrypted archive directly from your old phone to your new one over your own Wi-Fi network. The QR code you scan carries a one-time password, and the transfer stops after one download. It does not pass through our servers.

Ads in the free version

The free version shows one banner ad under the folder list, provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device’s advertising ID, your IP address, general location (such as country), device type, and how you interact with the ad. Google does not receive your photos, videos, notes, places or reports.

  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Türkiye and other places where it is required, Google’s consent form asks for your choice before ads use your data. You can change it later in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
  • On iPhone, the app does not ask for permission to track you across other apps and websites.
  • On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads).

Evidence Camera Pro has no ads.

Evidence Camera Pro and payments

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play or the App Store. They handle your payment; we never receive your card or bank details. Evidence Camera only asks the store whether your subscription is active, and keeps that answer on your device so Pro also works offline for a short time.

Google and Apple services in the app

On Android, document scanning, reading text and finding objects in photos use Google’s on-device ML Kit. It works on your device and may send Google technical information about how the feature performs (for example, device model and whether it worked). It does not send your photos or text. On iPhone, these features use Apple’s built-in tools on your device. Optional photo-quality hints run on your device.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t run our own servers for your data, and we don’t sell personal information.
  • We don’t use analytics or tracking tools of our own.
  • We don’t ask you to create an account.

Children

Evidence Camera is not made for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices and rights

Because your data stays on your device, you control it: you can export, delete or uninstall at any time. For ads, use Settings → Ad privacy choices in the app, or your phone’s ad settings. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or KVKK in Türkiye), you may have rights to access or delete personal data; for information held by Google for ads, Google’s tools apply. For any question, contact us below.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app’s update notes.
